Dr. Ahmed Noureldin is the Head of NICU, a Specialist in Pediatrics and Neonatologist, with over 20 years of experience in Pediatrics and Neonatal care. Throughout his career, he has worked in leading healthcare institutions, including reputable hospitals in Egypt as a Pediatrics Specialist, and a major governmental hospital in Kuwait, where he served as a Neonatologist for three years.

Since 2017, Dr. Ahmed has been part of HMS Al Garhoud Hospital, where he leads the tertiary-level Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). He specializes in the management of preterm and extremely preterm infants, including babies born as early as 24 weeks of gestation.

Neonatal Expertise

Dr. Ahmed is experienced in managing complex neonatal conditions and performing advanced NICU procedures, including:

  • Management of Respiratory Distress Syndrome (RDS)
  • Mechanical ventilation using all ventilation modes
  • Endotracheal tube (ETT) insertion
  • Surfactant (Survanta) administration using INSURE, MIST, and NIST techniques
  • Umbilical Venous Catheter (UVC) and Umbilical Arterial Catheter (UAC) insertion
  • Chest tube insertion
  • PICC line insertion
  • Management of Neonatal Jaundice (NNJ) with phototherapy and exchange transfusion when required
  • Treatment of Hypoxic-Ischemic Encephalopathy (HIE) using active cooling therapy
Pediatric Care

In addition to his NICU leadership role, Dr. Ahmed also provides comprehensive pediatric care, including:

  • Diagnosis and treatment of common childhood illnesses such as URTI, UTI, and gastroenteritis
  • Childhood vaccinations and immunization
  • Routine pediatric check-ups
  • Growth monitoring and developmental screenings

Dr. Ahmed also works closely with parents and caregivers, providing guidance on child health, nutrition, disease prevention, and healthy development to ensure the overall well-being of children.
